MOVIES
Writing Movies is an intensive course in screenwriting by award-winning
film-maker Laurence Henson given regularly in Dublin since 1998. It
has been endorsed by people of widely differing age,
experience and background - from those with no previous writing
experience to industry professionals and published novelists.
To date Writing Movies has been invited to
Cork, Galway and Northern Visions in Belfast. Henson has been guest
lecturer on screenwriting at Dublin Institute of Technology and at
Film Base.
Writing Movies covers all aspects of the craft and takes
care to create an especial awareness of the needs and expectations
of the AUDIENCE, i.e. how to write the film you want AND
communicate successfully with your audience.
BACK-UP SHEETS are issued on treatment-writing, story structure,
scene structure, screenplay layout, forming characters, recognizing
the authorial voice, etc etc etc. Each particpant takes away a file
of information on contract and payment scales relevant to the film
and television industries and a bound booklet of COURSE NOTES for
future use.
